351. Am I guaranteed admission to Australia?
An electronic visa for Australia, or any visa for that matter, can guarantee admission to Australia. Please note that the ETA/eVisitor is a document that grants a visitor permission to travel to and within Australia.
The ETA/eVisitor for Australia is currently available for citizens of certain eligible countries and who are traveling for tourism/business purposes. However, the ETA/eVisitor in no way guarantees entry to the country. Final authorization to Australia will be granted at the discretion of the Australia border authorities.
352. Do I need to renew my Australia Online ETA/eVisitor if my passport has changed/expired?
Your eVisitor is linked to the passport number you use in your application, and you should use the same passport to travel to Australia.
If you get a new passport, you should advise us of the new passport details before you travel to Australia. Otherwise, you will be delayed at the airport and might be denied permission to board your plane.
If you get a new passport while you are in Australia, you do not need to apply for another eVisitor as long as the one you have is still valid. If you leave Australia while your eVisitor is still valid, you can travel on your new passport but you should keep your old passport with you, as your eVisitor is attached to that passport.
353. How long is an Australia Online ETA/eVisitor valid for?
Once approved, You can stay in Australia for up to three months on each visit within 12 months from the date your eVisitor is granted .
The Australia Online ETA/eVisitor can be obtained for a multiple entry.
354. What kind of information do I need to complete the Australia Online ETA/eVisitor application?
As an applicant you must be a citizen of an eligible country and hold an ordinary passport with a validity of 6 months from your arrival date.
The following information will be required during the application process for an Australia ETA/eVisitor application:
Name, surname, and date of birth
Nationality as stated in the passport you are using in the application
Passport details such as: the number, issuing country, date of issue and expiration.
A valid and current email address and a contact number
A valid payment method such as a credit or debit card
355. Do I need an ETA/eVisitor to go to Australia?
It is important that the details provided for your ETA/eVisitor application are exactly the same as they appear in your passport. If you aren’t eligible to apply for an ETA/eVisitor online you might be able to apply through a travel agent, airline or at an Australian visa office. 356. Who requires an ETA/eVisitor to enter Australia?
A citizen of a foreign country, wishing to enter Australia, generally must first obtain an ETA/eVisitor.

357. What is ETA/eVisitor?
An Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) or eVisitor provides authorisation to travel to and enter Australia and is electronically linked to your passport.
It is for short term stays for tourism or business visitor activities such as attending a conference, making business enquiries, or for contractual negotiations.
