Do I have to provide my medical certificate when purchasing travel insurance?

Some travel insurance providers may require passengers with pre-existing medical issues to show a medical certificate before coverage is authorized.

The traveler's regular physician typically issues this certificate. It describes the medical condition, any drugs or therapy necessary, and the possibility of medical issues while traveling.

However, not all insurers demand medical certifications. In most cases, Australia travel insurance does not require medical or doctor's credentials until the insured has to file a claim.
